NLP - The 8 Rules to Live Your Life By
This is not strictly an NLP exercise, but it is a fantastic place to start if you are going to make truly incredible changes to your life.
1.
Some things can be changed immediately - Some things cannot be changed immediately
Don’t let the things that you can’t change immediately hold you back, worry you, play on your mind or effect you in anyway.
If you are not in a position to change things, such as your income, clear a debt, do something that you want to do or get something that you want then it can wait.
It will be achieved eventually because what you must always do is act in the correct way immediately.
You must take the right action and do all that you can do at the present time. If there is something that you can change immediately there must be no excuses, it must be done, you must make the change immediately. If it needs to be changed – and you can change it – then change it.
Accept full responsibility for your life, take action and make changes.
2. NLP, rules
You cannot change the past – Do not live in the past
You cannot change what you have done or what others have done to you.
You cannot change what has happened in the past.
Do not ponder on the past, unless it is to serve a purpose for you such as learning from an experience, to protect you through experience or to highlight a success or pleasant memory from the past.
Never labour in a thought from a negative experience in the past. Use what you like from the past then move on. (Use the NLP Swish Pattern and NLP Re Framing exercises to help you to weaken then expel negative thoughts)

With each breath you take – In every second – You can affect your future
You can have an effect on your future right now – immediately.
Every small step you take, every small action that you produce can have a profound effect on your short term, medium term and long term future.
Everything that you do from this very second leads to your future, commit to taking the right actions now and you will reap the rewards as you travel through your life.
Your desired outcomes and results may often seem a long way off but time passes very quickly. Look at how quickly the past five or ten years have gone.
The very smallest of actions can be one of the building blocks that eventually lead you to a massive result or outcome.
Always be affecting your future in a positive way
4. NLP, rules
Always be giving – Give all that you possibly can
Be kind, be generous, and always be loving and caring. Be prepared to give in the present and be prepared to give in the future.
Be giving to those that are dearest to you and also give to anyone that you meet.
You can give kind words, be pleasant, be compassionate, and be cheerful.
Always give freely to others, expect no reward other than to see others happy, cared for, loved, provided for and content.
What you put out in this world will come back to you eventually. Always try to be doing something that benefits others in some way. Give all that you can.

Set the standards to live your life by – And set your standards high
Know what you stand for then set the standards that you are going to live your life by.
Set your standards high then raise them again.
Never settle for anything less than the person you can truly be or become.
Do not let the words or actions of others ever affect the words you use or the actions you take, raise yourself above them. Let people see how high your standards really are. Commit to living your life by only the highest of personal standards.
Your standards are the rules within your life so choose your rules wisely as they will be a guide for you as you aim to achieve your desired way of life and to achieve your desired outcomes.
Never break your personal rules and always make sure that you live your life by your rules not the rules of others or by the lower standards of others.
Be very careful of where your rules come from, are they your rules? Or are they your parent’s rules? Or the rules of others?
If you have to use someone else’s rules or standards then make sure that it is of a high enough standard to be continued to be used by you.
Acknowledge people that you admire and learn from them but do not attain to reach their standards, go above and beyond the standards of others.
You must also decide what you don’t like and what you will no longer accept in your life
6. NLP, rules
Develop a Powerful Body – Be Fit – Be Healthy
Look after your body constantly.
Develop your habit of eating healthy nutritious foods and indulge yourself in a daily exercise routine.
Your desired outcome with regard to your body can only be to achieve greatness with your physical condition.
Work hard to achieve your personal peak condition. Physically be the best that you can possibly be. Make optimum conditioning one of your standards and rules.
As you set out building a desirable future for yourself, setting your standards, rules, goals and outcomes having a body that is in great shape physically will be an amazing asset to you.
If your body is in an unfit and unhealthy state you will not be able to produce the mental actions required to help you achieve your dreams and build a fantastically fulfilling life
7. NLP, rules, your life
Develop Your Powerful Mind - Train Your Mind to Work With You
Just as you would develop a muscle by constant training and conditioning you must also train and develop the power of your mind.
You must become a master communicator with yourself.
Your mind will be the most incredible tool that you will ever use, if you learn to use it the right way. You must never linger on a negative thought.
You must never hold in your mind any animosity or ill thoughts towards others, you haven’t got time to do this, it is a complete waste of your valuable time.
You must develop new ways of thinking, you will need to use mantras, and you will find better words to say to yourself, you must set new rules and standards for your mind.
This will be a powerful experience for you and the world you live in will change forever.
What you focus on in life you quite often get!
8. NLP,
Know what you like – Know what you want – Know your outcome
You must always know your desired outcome in any given situation.
You must know what you want now and in the future. You must plan to achieve your desired outcomes. You must take the required actions that will set you off in the right direction in order that you hit your targets.
You will need to know what you like, what motivates you, what fires you up, what will move you forward.
You will also be developing a fantastic future for others so you also need to know what they want and need too.
When you know what you really want out of life and what you want to achieve, then design who ‘you’ are going to become you are creating and designing a fantastic exciting future for yourself and your loved ones.
If you don’t plan, if you don’t know what you want, then you will have to accept what life throws at you, you will be living the life that other people desire, you will never get what you really want.
Know what you want then go and get it.
